How to read bag dimensions and strap drop, and how to choose a belt size, so the piece she opens at home is the one she pictured.

How do I read handbag dimensions?
- Height: from the base to the top edge, not counting handles.
- Width: side to side at the widest point. Some bags are wider at the top than at the base, and we list both when they differ.
- Depth: front to back at the base. This shows how much the bag holds and how it sits against her body.
What is strap drop?
Strap drop, or handle drop, is the distance from the top of the strap down to the top of the bag when it's held up. It tells her where the bag will sit. A shorter drop rests in the hand or the crook of the elbow. A longer drop sits on the shoulder. In winter coat season, a little more room makes all the difference.
How do I compare it with a bag I already love?
The best size guide is already in her closet. Lay a favorite bag flat, measure its height, width, depth, and strap drop, then compare. If the numbers are close, ours will feel just as right. Try it over the thickest coat, too.
Our measurements
- Departure Tote: 19 inches wide, 6 inches deep, and 12 inches high, measured center to bottom. Designed to sit on the shoulder or the elbow, with multiple pockets inside.
- Cosmic Tote, small: 10.23 inches high and 6.3 inches deep, 18.11 inches across the top, and 14.29 inches across the base.
- Cosmic Tote, large: 12.6 inches high and 6.69 inches deep.
- Lovebug Tote: 18.5 by 12.2 by 5.7 inches, and just 14.1 ounces, with three inside pockets.
How do I choose my belt size?
All our belts come in four lengths: Small, 38 inches; Medium, 40 inches; Large, 42 inches; and X-Large, 44 inches. Our lengths are measured from the center of the buckle to the tip. The easiest way to choose is to measure a belt she already loves the same way and pick the size closest to it. Then think about where she'll wear it, cinching a dress at the waist or riding lower with jeans.
